I am very honored to introduce OII's two newest board members, Kristen Worley and Y. Gavriel Ansara.
OII-Canada Kristen Worley is a famous athlete who has worked in many countries in the world with the International Olympic Committee to end discrimination against intersex and trans athletes. She will speak on behalf of OII as spokeswoman against sexism and discrimination. For more information about Kristen Worley:
Here we find an odd article by Zucker and Spitzer. http://tinyurl.com/4ssbcl It should be noted, that the great majority of those presenting with extreme boyhood femininity in childhood do NOT grow up to be transsexual. This...

We have been asked why OII's Official Position on Health Care does not mention mutilations. There are many reasons for this. Most intersex activism has been focused on just denouncing surgery (basically feminizing surgery), while insisting on a gender assignment as soon...
Hello Clarke-Northwestern. Hello Sexnet. How are you nice people today? While you are eating your breakfasts, lunch or supper depending on the time you actually read this, I would like you to contemplate a concept known as “Dissent”. That is people do not agree with everything you say, and perhaps more unsettling for you...

On January 30, 2008, the University Clinic of Hamburg-Eppendorf UKE in Hamburg held the 2nd Interdisciplinary Forum on Intersexuality.
The most important moment of the event was when the Verein Intersexuelle Menschen e.V. (Association for the Intersexed) honored Dr. Milton Diamond for his years of service to the intersex community and his endless commitment to their well-being and acceptance within society.
We in OII wish to express our agreement with the German Intersex people who honored him. Dr. Milton Diamond has been devoted to listening to intersexed people and working...
OII’s policy concerning intersex, medical diagnoses and health information.
OII is very sensitive to the individual’s right to privacy concerning medical information and does not require any release of medical information or any diagnosis to be a member of our support groups. OII members are instructed not to ask for a medical diagnosis from any member, leaving each member free to volunteer such information and share that information with others as they feel fit. There are many reasons for this.
PRESS RELEASE - Feb. 6, 2008 Organisation Intersex International http://www.intersexualite.org/ Congratulations to Christiane Völling
The Organisation Intersex International congratulates Christiane Völling the German intersex woman who sued a surgeon for damages. Today the Cologne Regional Court ruled that her ovaries and uterus were removed over 30 years ago without her informed consent.
This verdict further justifies OII's position that present-day medical treatment of intersex infants...
DSD: North American Medical fascism and manufacturing consent
By Curtis E. Hinkle Founder, Organisation Intersex International
One of the most important questions to ask concerning the controversy surrounding the term “DSD”, Disorders of sex development, as a replacement for intersex is a simple one. Why do we need to have a name at all? Why do we need to have a diagnosis at all? Other important questions include who is naming us and for what reasons? Does this have anything to do with us at all? Should it even concern us?
Gender is not something many people would expect to be an issue for someone seeking help at a women's shelter.
But it could be, if your gender is questioned.
The issue of transsexual women receiving shelter and other support services was a topic of discussion Thursday during a workshop entitled, "Creating Inclusive Spaces for all Women," organized by the Chatham-Kent Women's Centre Outreach Program.
Joelle Laramee, vice-president and spokeswoman for the Canadian Organisation of Internationale des Intersexués, based in Montreal, was one of the panel speakers.

This is a story of a 22 years old patient who was born to less educated parents in remote area and reared as Female in early life. She passed all her exams in both her school and graduation level. Not a single instance has come in her life when she ever felt ambiguity in her sexual behaviour. As a normal human being, she continued her studies and went to Mumbai. She applied for a job as a female candidate and luckily got selected for the job. After selection, she started her training...
Commentary by Curtis Hinkle and P. Derelle, members of OII, Organisation Intersex International
As an intersexed person with the same intersex variation as the character in the film XXY, I am shocked at the continuous misinformation coming from TÊTU (a large gay French magazine). This is not the first time that TÊTU has insisted on marginalising and invisibilising intersex people.
I have read TÊTU’s critique of the film XXY (the only negative one in all the...

The intersexed are mobilizing to defend themselves (Translation: Curtis E. Hinkle)
Treating intersex as a taboo has had a long-lasting negative impact on the lives of those affected and has forced them into isolation. The intersexed are no longer going to be silenced and in the future are going to stand up to protect intersex children. Society needs correct information and explanations in order for intersex to start being treated in a more flexible manner. Intersexed people are demanding that sex-assignment operations...
(Translation: Curtis E. Hinkle, Founder of the Organisation Intersex International)
Each year in the European Union thousands of children are subjected to genital operations without their consent. Most of them will endure substantial psychological and physical damage as a result which will cause lifelong suffering.
These operations serve no medical purpose, but serve exclusively to irreversibly...
