Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

OII Australia will be participating in this years Gay and lesbian Mardi Gras. As far as we know this will be the first time Intersex has specifically been included in the parade.
OII will march with the New South Wales Inner City Legal Service float.

I will be wearing a silver cape with Intersex across the back and a white sparkly T shirt with OII Intersex on the front.

The Australian Capital Territory has widened its Human rights legislation to Include Intersex. We have been added to Gender identity section . It is not perfect but it is the first time Intersex has been included in anti discrimination law in Australia.

I am working on some rewording with ACT attorney general. Changes will not happen until at least next year as a part of the legislative cycle. It needs to be under sex diversity and worded in a non sex binary way. Their heart was in the right place they just don't understand Intersex all that well.
